I’ve been asked quite often, “are you Christian?” “Are you catholic?” “Why do you wear a cross?” However, the answer has nothing to do with religion. Yes, I was born into Russian Orthodox Christianity and baptized at only few months old through a church in Cyprus 🇨🇾 The reason why I wear it is to remind myself. Remind myself where I came from and it’s not the religion. It’s the believe of my family. I know they are always there for me. When I visited my mother in Russia about a year ago, I completely forgot that she kept that cross with her through out all 5 years I’ve not been able to see her due to trying to get my citizenship here. When she gave it back to me, she told me that she would hold it sometimes and wear it to put her energy in it. And if you didn’t know, I am a Buddhistic altruist, meaning I follow Buddhistic principles but am altered by many other believes and religions. Therefore, now where ever I go, with a gentle stroke of my finger against the cross I can almost feel her being here with me. (at America/Tijuana)
